My goodness...time does past by very quickly doesn't it..its been already a week since i acquired freedom from the chains of law..I must say that i have indeed been enjoying myself for this past one week, Waking up late in the mornings or well sometimes afternoons, spending time online for hours just chatting, surfing, looking out for new recipes...speaking of which my choc fudge found itself in someone else's mouth other than mine today..with a good feedback on it as well...hmm..i have been looking up quite a bit of new recipes to try out lately..i suppose its because at the end of the day before i go to sleep, i love the thought of having accomplished something, its just well...self fulfilling...even if its just having tried out new recipes..:)
There was another "newness" to my life today if i may say so...I was a student again though today in a unlikely classroom...beautiful waves dancing with glee was my blackboard....fishing!!!.Patrick was the teacher although he quite perfectly fits into the picture, a man as old as my father, quite the fisherman as he fishes every week.Patrick thought of eveything, good old chap, 2 beach chairs, thermos full of coffee and a fishing rod for me as well. It started out well and then he started teaching me how to use the rod and to throw it out into the sea water. i tried and the rod line got caught on a tree branch i was standing right under....well never mind, Patrick said...ure still learning....and yes a student i was..
We sat down and talked with the waves just reaching inches away frm our feets and minutes later we managed to get one beauty..cant remember the name of the fish now but i dont think i can forget the sight of the guts of the fish being taken out and the blood all over on the sand being washed away as quickly as it dropped by the waves. I wasnt disturbed by the sight but im just reflecting on the fact how by the spilt second the fish that was alive was now dead...now that didnt really come out right because it does sound like i was disturbed by it ...never mind!!
The highlight of the little fishing experience was the sudden presence of a little visitor..heard a loud squawk coming out of the sea waters and my eyes grew large with curiosity ...a small black head and a figure wading became visible..a PENGUIN...WOWEEE...i was stunned because i love these adorable wild creatures..loved the fact that i was seeing a real life one and not one on the discovery channel...plus im a malaysian...sure was a special moment...
There u go...a little insight into my first fishing experience..it doesnt really matter i didnt have a bucket full of fish to carry home..at least i did reel in a large Cod fish...decided to let the fish back into the sea though..to be honest i wouldnt have know how to cook the fish...Must admit that i still in the process of familiarising myself with Australian seawater fish...:)..in terms of the recognising the kinds of fish and methods of cooking the fish.
Thats all for now folks...Take care and see ya in my next blog entry...
